Comparing "Parable of the Dog" & "Dog Days"
The main point of "A Dog Parable" is that a man and a dog are family and friends. The main point of "Dog Days" is that a dog is a friend, but it is not family. The man in "A Dog Parable" wants to keep his dog, even though he could have drunk water in Hell, but he decides to stay with his dog in Heaven. Cooper, the main character in "Dog Days", wants to keep his dog, but his wife, Christina, does not feel safe having a dog when they will have a baby. He finally gives up what he wants. In my opinion, many people in the U.S have a dog, live at home together, and some people even sleep with their dog on their bed. The dog is a very friendly animal, and most dogs never disobey their owners. However, Christina has never thought about living with a dog, and she worries about it before having a baby. I think that she is very selfish and unfair to Cooper.
